Interstate 95 and Interstate 295 motorists will encounter double lane closures in both directions next week starting September 17 between the Academy Road and Route 413 (Bristol) interchanges for construction activities on a project to repair and resurface 13 miles of I-95 and I-295 in Bensalem, Bristol, Middletown and Lower Makefield townships, Bucks County. The work schedule is as follows from PennDOT:
- Monday, September 17, through Friday, September 21, from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, northbound I-95 and eastbound I-295 between the Route 132 (Street Road) and Route 413 (Bristol) interchanges for paving;
- Monday, September 17, through Thursday, September 20, from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, northbound I-95 between the Academy Road and Route 132 (Street Road) interchanges for bridge dam installation; and
- Monday, September 17, through Thursday, September 20, from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, westbound I-295 and southbound I-95 between the Route 413 (Bristol) and Academy Road interchanges, for subbase installation.
In addition, single lane closures will be in place on northbound and southbound I-95 between Academy Road and the Pennsylvania Turnpike interchanges on Monday, September 17, through Thursday, September 20, from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, for guide rail installation.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling on I-95 and I-295 in the work areas because significant backups and delays will occur. The contractor’s schedule is weather dependent.
